Since 01. 09. 2019 Tobias has been Counsel (freelancer) of the law firm BRAHMS, NEBEL & Kollegen mbB in Berlin.
Since October 2017
Since the winter semester 2017/2018, Tobias has been a lecturer at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. In Faculty 3 (“General Administration”) he offers the “Environmental and Energy Law” for students of the Bachelor’s program “Public Administration”. Among others, the lecture deals with the Federal Immission Control Act, the Water Resources Act, and the Federal Nature Conservation Act.
Since Juli 2016
Since July 2016 Tobias has been working for a company for the underground storage of natural gas in Berlin – initially as Legal Counsel and since June 2018 as Head of the Legal Department. In this context, he advises the management as well as all business divisions on matters including contract law, approval law, and corporate law. Tobias also advises the Business Development department on legal issues in connection with the construction and operation of geothermal and power-to-gas plants. He is also responsible, among other things, for the topic of data protection and thus for the implementation of the provisions of the Basic Data Protection Ordinance and the Federal Data Protection Act.
Between January 2014 and June 2016
From January 2014 until June 2016 Tobias worked as Senior Associate at NOERR LLP in Berlin. In particular, he dealt with legal issues in the field of energy law and renewable energy law. In this context, he led a number of legal disputes before German courts, e. g. on questions of grid connection and the remuneration of systems under the Renewable Energy Sources Act.
Between August 2012 and December 2013
After successful completion of his legal training and admission to the bar, Tobias started his career in August 2012 as an associate with the law firm SAMMLER USINGER Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbB in Berlin. At SAMMLER USINGER, he was mainly responsible for clients from the energy industry. B. on questions of concession law. In addition, he regularly advised on legal issues in connection with the Renewable Energy Sources Act.
